Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry

This regulated qualification is ideal for anyone wishing to work as a door supervisor as it provides them with the necessary skills and knowledge to apply for an SIA licence in this field. Subjects covered include behavioural standards, legislation relevant to the role, search procedures, powers of arrest, recording incidents and crime scene preservation, reducing risk, conflict management, communicating effectively and physical intervention.

The SIA Door Supervision course runs over 6 days and is divided into 4 units:
  • Principles of working in the private security industry
  • Principles of working as a door supervisor in the private security industry
  • Application of conflict management in the private security industry
  • Application of physical intervention skills in the private security industry
The course is assessed by multiple choice exams and a practical assessment. Successful candidates will receive a Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry (RQF) certificate.

Learner Entry Requirements for Door Supervisor Course
Door supervisors are required to coordinate with emergency services. Door supervisors need to have good communication and conflict management skills. To communicate clearly and effectively security officers require good communication skills. Learners intending to join the door supervisor course should have a reasonable understanding of English. Door supervisors are also required to complete Emergency First Aid training prior to start Door Supervisors course. This qualification must be undertaken over a minimum of 6-days (with mandatory distance learning). Minimum age requirement is 18.
